Thanks for letter received in spite of spring cleaning ‘you seem to be getting on finely, and yours is no small house. We have not started yet, I must have my bedroom papered it is so bad’ Dad’s cough bad and has had Dr Anderson’s medicine. ‘Elsie has had a letter from Mrs Cope & a paper and she asked her to go down and stay with her. I am very glad of it, for I feel deeply sorry there should have been any unpleasantness…poor Elsie, she has always had her own way pretty much…Percy & Daisy came over but I don’t know how long the present arrangement will last’. Glad new vicar seems agreeable. Hopes Bessie, Isaac or any of the children will come whenever they can. Piano arrived safely. Nice weather now. I am told Flo Hall is going to be married to an Air Man in Canada. I should expect to be a widow soon in that case.’ Maid still does well ‘so willing and useful & always bright and pleasant’ fortunate to get her.
