Scope and Content
1) George Murrell of Stotfold, minister of the gospel.
2) John Randal, George Arnold of Stotfold and Thomas Leinord of Astwick, John Payne of Radwell, Herts and Samuel Bates of Norton, Herts.
Consideration £100 from 2) to 1) for the absolute purchase of a certain building newly converted into a chapel or place of worship and intended to be free of Land Tax.
1) sells to 2) as trustees in behalf and for the benefit of the Members of the Baptist Church to which they belong and stand in connexion with.
- All that newly erected building now converted into a place of worship situated and abutting to the road called Dark House Lane and extending to and adjoining the premises and property of the said George Murrell and sometime built by John Roe deceased upon the site of a certain cottage or tenement heretofore called Dark Lanehouse.
- 'That the property or premises shall never be sold nor used for any other purpose but the worship of God And trustees shall be chosen from time to time by the members of the church so that the same member may be kept up and then names endorsed of the back hereof.'
