    Elizabeth Botterill: husband keeps the Shoulder of Mutton, Dunstable. The prisoner, a chimney sweep, went into the house and offered a ham for sale. it was marked WG, and "there was a hole eat in it by mice". As no-one bought it, the prisoner left it on the dresser as he went out. Francis Banks and George Cooper left the house with the sweep. Francis Banks; he and Cooper bought the ham for 1s 6d from "Jack the Sweep" and took it to his house where they ate a great many slices of it, but there was a great deal of waste which they threw away: "the cat had some of it ... it was covered with soot." George Cooper: as Francis Banks. They cut the rind off, but he did see part of a W on it. William Gregory: there were three hams in his kiln.
