Scope and Content
The notes speculate that the death rate was about half the foundlings sent to Meppershall and also record that of 85 foundlings sent to Luton, 19 died before the 6th month, 6 before the first year, 10 before the second year. In all 38 died before they were 6. At 6 they returned to the Foundling Hospital in London.
