He knows nothing about the Bedfordshire people than he told you some time ago. He understands that in the northern part they all gave their votes to [William] Stuart.

    The weather is lovely. Will be in Town by the 1st or 2nd; believes the Vyners will arrive a fortnight later. Miss Townshend, Lord Sydney’s sister is to be married to Captain Cust, brother to Lord Brownlow. [Sophie Mary Townshend, half sister of John Robert [Townshend], 1st Earl Sydney married (as his second wife) Lt Col Hon Peregrine Francis Cust, brother of John Cust 1st Earl Brownlow] Lady Granville (the Duke of Durwicke’s sister’s daughter) is to be married, but the writer does not know to whom. [Lady Susan Georgiana Leveson-Gower, daughter of Granville Leveson-Gower, 1st Earl Granville married George Pitt-Rivers, 4th Baron Rivers in February 1833] Lord Conyngham [Henry Burton Conyngham, 1st Marquess Conyngham] is dying; his daughter [Lady Maria Conyhgham] married Sir William Somerville the other day. Writer hears from Brighton that the King [William IV] is quite well and in good spirits; he has large parties at the Pavilion. Is told the government are very pleased with the election; they are supposed to be as follow: 300 Whigs, 220 Radicals and 140 Tories.
