Excerpts from journal include: Comments on the harvest work and weather. Rail road surveyors "...have been about in almost every direction from Long Close to the River & also in the Pavenham Meadows & over the River into our Meadow." Subsequent altercation between surveyors and Mr Booth. Tom Skinner and Bob Truett's wife caught in a compromising situation.
