    Traces ownership from Simon de Albini through the Dakeney family via Roger who married one of the de Albini daughters; sale to the de Grey family in the 15th century who continued to hold it until the early 16th century, ownership of the king from 1528 and annexation to the Honour of Ampthill in 1542. Various leases are cited and in 1548 a grant was made of the site of the manor of Cainhoe to Robert Beverley. In 1654 it was sold by James Beverley back to the de Greys (Amabel) and leased to various families. In 1759 the long tenure of the Crouch family began with Edward being the last tenant, he died in 1915. The Wrest Park Estate including Cainhoe Farm was put up for sale in 1917
