  • Scope and Content
Report submitted to County Planning by J. Kenneth Major B. Arch; A.R.I.B.A. with photographs detailing the history and architecture of the Mills. Originally the Mills were used as oil cake mills (1812-1899). They were taken over by Messrs Beesons Ltd who made fertilisers and other products from bones and slaughter house waste until 1961. The Mills then passed to Cross Bone Fertilisers Limited who were still there in 1965. The report appears to have been written as part of a consultation into demolition of the buildings. The writer concludes that some parts are worthy of preservation and that detailed photographs and drawings should be prepared to enable a record of the mill to be held by the National Monuments Record.
