    Pleased to receive the play order. Went with Miss Manningham the other night; she gave the writer the use of the box again for the next night, but was too tired to go, so offered it to friends. The Thomas Cocks's will not settle in town before November. Jemima has gone to pay a 3 week visit to Lady Sarah Lyttelton at Putney. 'It is time the poor Mrs Joseph Carew is dead. She had been ill and confined to her bed for six weeks' [Refers to death of Caroline Carew, nee Ellis]. Makes further comments about Caroline. Writer had dinner at St. James' Square last Wednesday with Lady Pollington [Anne Savile] and Lady Caroline Cocks. Postscript refers to the singing of Miss M Tice[?] and Mr Phillips [Possibly opera singers]
