    Dear Evie, I have just received your P.C. Friday evening. As the regiment are here now we are all upsidedown , yet will write as soon as ever I get a chance to tell you how I and getting on. Been a lot of rain but better now. I hope you enjoyed yourself at Bedford, I wish I could have been there. Remember me to Mother and all ........ home and mine, for I must close now. Will write again ... Sat or Sunday, soon as ever get time, So I must now close......... With fondest (?) love , Fred
