Whereas the Houses of Parliament are in the habit of requiring that, previous to the introduction of any Bill for making bridges...turnpike roads...canals, waterworks etc certain maps and writings shall be deposited in offices of the Clerks of the Peace, be it therefore enacted that such maps...writings...shall be received by the Clerks of the Peace...and that all persons interested shall have liberty to inspect the same. (fee 1s). 1847, c.15. An Act for converting into one Act provisions usually contained in Acts authorising Gasworks for supplying towns with gas. Section 45: undertakers shall deposit within 6 months a copy of the special Act with the Clerk of the Peace. 1847, c.17. Section 90: undertakers shall deposit within 6 months a copy of the special Act with the Clerk of the Peace. 1888, Local Government Act. Section 83, para 6. The Clerk of the Peace, when acting in relation to ...the deposit of plans or documents...shall act under the direction of the County Council, and all enactments relating to such business....shall be construed as if the Clerk of the County Council were therin substituted for Clerk of the Peace.
