Letter from Emma Chapman to Bessie Godber. Arrived home safely. Very few porters about but at Bletchley and Cheddington was helped with bag. Haymaking at a standstill since Friday. Very severe thunderstorms the yards full of water. 10 people want to go to the Stocks Garden Fete [24/7/12] and the wagonette holds eight. Elsie has an invitation to M Pitcher’s wedding [Maggie Pitcher married 7/8/12]. Saw Willie at the station as the train was moving. Will meet the children please send post card as to time. Tell Joyce to bring her dollies dress as she intended. Feels a little seedy but is taking old remedy ‘Seigal’[?]
