Letter from F Townsend (for O Steed) of Steed’s Pale Ale Brewery, Baldock (Hertfordshire) to Mrs Foster of Ickleford Writes that he is willing to have a lease of the house at Shefford (see X753/11 a) and X753/16 inter alia) terminating at her death ‘with the distinct understanding of six months notice to quit when your death takes place. I hope you will see that I should be obliged to give my tenant six months notice and consequently might be placed in [an] awkward position without this arrangement’
