    Parties: i) William Gilbert of Bedford, cordwainer, and George Crouch of Campton, gentleman (devisees in trust of the will of Lucy Parrott, deceased) (see X753/4 xiii) et seq) ii) George Baron of Shefford, baker Recitals: Will of Lucy Parrott as abstracted in X753/4 xiii); and that at her death she was seised or entitled in fee simple in possession of or to (inter alia) the hereditaments below, viz. a) which formed part of her real estate therein (18 October 1846) death of Lucy Parrott (2 April 1848) probate of her will and codicils (see X753/4 xvi) etc. (3 November 1848) Deaths of Hannah Driver, who was buried at Orlingbury, Northamptonshire, (17 May 1850), and Emma Aires, who was buried at the Public Cemetery in Bedford, (8 October 1855), at whose decease Lucy Parrott’s realty became saleable under the trusts in her will and codicils That, in pursuance of the trusts of the recited will, i) lately caused the realty to be offered for sale by public auction whereat ii) was the highest bidder for and declared purchaser of the hereditaments a) below for £265 being the best price and most obtainable for the same Operative part: Conveyance by i), in consideration of £265, to ii), his heirs and assigns of: a) a messuage situated in Ampthill Street in Shefford erected by James Parrott, deceased, (husband of Lucy Parrott), on the site of and on part of the ground belonging to 2 cottages or tenements [see X753/2 a)] pulled down by him [see X753/4 dorse] and which were then late in the occupation of John Bushby and John Smith; with the site of the same tenements and the other ground belonging thereto and occupied therewith being 33’ in width, 177’ in depth etc. (as in X753/2 a); with abuttals as described in X753/2 a)); as devised (inter alia) to Lucy Parrott in fee simple by James Parrott, the same being late occupied by her and now by George Baron, and being free from Land Tax (which has now been redeemed) but subject to a quit rent of 1d as customary freehold of the manor of Shefford with Campton Covenant by i) with ii) to produce certain enumerated documents viz. the probate of the will of James Parrott and the probate of the will and codicils of Lucy Parrott Dorse: receipt and signing, sealing, and delivery of i) witnessed by Edward Jones of High Street, Bedford, shoemaker, and George Austin of Shefford, solicitor [whose ‘GA’ wax seal appears on the document and on subsequent items]
