Reference to the sort of dog the writer would like. Florio [dog] is much better, so if Alexander cannot find a dog he thinks worth bringing over he is not to bother. General news of social events and acquaintances. Writers Father suffers a great deal, but Dr. Smith does not apprehend any sudden change. John Dalrymple, 5th Earl of Stair is chosen at the 16th representative peer by a majority of ten. Happy with the thought of seeing Alexander next month.
