    1) Charles Augustus Thorne of St Albans and Lavinia Elizabeth his wife and John Brittain of Camden Town and Louisa his wife. 2) Edward Twelvetrees of Biggleswade, builder. Recites: Will of William Brittain late of Shenley, Herts dated 10 Nov 1800 leaving estate of Caldecott to son Charles, after life interest of his father John, as William’s mother’s jointure to him. William died 1810. Will of Charles Radley Brittain dated 16 May 1825 leaving all estates to uncle John Newbal Bacon of Saint Albans for life and after his decease to his wife Elizabeth and after her death to cousin John Brittain captain in the Bengal marines for life and after his decease to any children of John Brittain as tenants in common. Charles Radley Brittain died 14 Dec 1826, John Newbal Bacon died 25 May 1833, John Brittain died August 1829, Elizabeth Bacon died 13 Jan 1857. Lavinia Elizabeth Thorne (formerly Brittain) and John Brittain are the only surviving children of John Brittain and have agreed to sell to 2) for £105 - Freehold Homestead consisting of the barn, sheds and stables and small farm yard at Lower Caldecott N – public road leading from the Great North or York Road. S – premises belonging to Inskip now or late in the occupation of Edward Bryant. E – Great North Road W – premises late belonging to 1) now sold to William Ayres.
