- Production dateFrom: 1830 To: 1830
- Scope and ContentLost seven rabbits belonging to their 12-year-old son, which she had locked in the stable. Heard from Thomas Ball "who sells beer" that George Galer had been there late at night. Went to Galer's mother-in-law's house, where she stayed for three hours but they would not let her look for the rabbits. She went off to find a constable, and was invited in to search the house on her return which made her fear the rabbits had already been "made away with". Catching sight of George Galer at a distance she followed him and found him skinning the rabbits in a ditch. Mr Fuller of Thorncote and his man were ploughing in the field close by, and when they came up, Galer gave up the rabbits without saying anything. Examination of George Galer: bought the rabbits from a man "but declined mentioning his name". The man also gave him a fowl at the same time.
