    Saw the christening of the Princess [Augusta Sophia]. Middlesex election - 'the mob broke in and took away the poll books so the election is obliged to be deferred till tomorrow.' Young Mr Hodges in on the point of marriage to a Miss Blake, said to be worth £15,000. Philip Stanhope, [illigetimate] son of Lord Chesterfield has died [died of dropsy in St Gervais, France]. Would be interested to hear about Alexander's lessons on Christian religion.
