    Is 70 years old. Has lived in Bedford all his life and in St Peter’s 30 years. Was appointed arbitrator by articles of agreement of 1 May 1819 [X493/17]. Report published on 29 July 1819 [X493/18] Has known the site mentioned in said agreement all his life. When first knew the same was but one messuage on the site – that formerly in occupation of Martin Sewell [?Semell], in occupation of James Eastaff at date of award and still in his occupation. Remembers erection of other messuage described as being in occupation of William Eastaff and which was erected by him Since date of said award said James Eastaff has erected on site of timber yard etc., a messuage which was lately in occupation of Miss Jane Warden and which, he has heard, has been sold by James Eastaff to Mary Gutteridge There are as appurtenances to last mentioned messuage, a yard, garden and outbuildings North: highway from St Peter’s Green to Goldington South: shrubbery grounds of Alexander Sharman East: James Eastaff part West: Mrs Stuart other part West: James Eastaff When he first knew the premises they belonged to James Eastaff, father of Mary Howard Parker, James and William Eastaff James Eastaff the father, he has heard, devised them to wife Emery, for life and then to children equally to be divided between them Emery Eastaff is now dead signed: Joseph Okely declared before Thomas W Turnley
