- Scope and Contenti) Joseph Winwood, St Botolph, Aldgate, Middlesex, distiller, and wife Susannah (formerly Susannah Gill, widow) which Susannah is a devisee for her life of the undermentioned property under the will of Thomas Margetts, Bedford, gentleman Thomas Way, Gosmore, Ippollitts, Hertfordshire, gentleman, nephew and devisee of property after death of Susannah, in tail general ii) Thomas Taylor, Hitchin, Hertfordshire, gentleman iii) Richard Tristram, Hitchin, gentleman iv) John Midwinter, Hitchin, surgeon and apothecary, and wife Dinah (lately called Dinah Hobbs, spinster, niece of said Thomas Way) i) conveys to ii) with intent to suffer recovery to bar entail - messuage etc. in parish of St Peter’s, in occupation of William Tippist - garden plot in same parish in occupation of Thomas Smith - close pasture called Great Collet, otherwise Collins Close (8 acres) in St Cuthbert’s, in occupation of Robert Beverly, esquire - close pasture in Bedford - remaining part of an old malting at West end of orchard belonging to said messuage with barley loft over it - all other property given by will of Thomas Margetts to Susannah Winwood for her life with remainder to Thomas Way i) to levy a fine, at cost of Thomas Way, to make ii) tenant to the precipe to suffer a common recovery, to be taken out by iii) at cost of Thomas Way and John Midwinter property to use of Susannah for life and then to Thomas Way for life and then to iv) for ever signed: (copy) all witnesses: (copy) Francis Major, R Finch, John Crabb, W Malom 17 and 18 Apr 1754 attested: 15 April 1840
