- Scope and ContentArrested William Clark at Silsoe Fair. On the way back Clark told him he would not have stolen the plait if he had not been pressed by Robert Brewer. Brewer put his arm through a hole in the wall of William Withington's barn and unpinned the door, and he and Samuel Fossey went in and fetched the plait while Clark kept watch. Further information of William Jeffery: Samuel Fossey said that Clark remained outside the barn, Brewer removed some bricks but could not get in, so sent Samuel Fossey in, telling him there was plenty of straw plait there.
