    “I resign my soul unto God ...” to brother John; George Inn, Drury Lane, in the parish of St Mary Savoy, and messuage adjoining; an inn formerly the Cock Yard, now the Black Horse, in Drury Lane; The Cock and Pye, Drury Lane; a little messuage in Drury Lane which testator’s mother purchased of Dobbs; the Swan Inn, Leighton Buzzard, with a little messuage adjoining, in possession of Ann Gladman, now Henry Gregory; charged with payment of £9 per annum to sister, Prudence Johnson, for life (under agreement 16 September 1685), and with £8 per annum (under mother’s will), and also £13 per annum left by testator. Copyhold lands in manor of Leighton Buzzard alias Grovebury will also go to said brother to sister-in-law Elizabeth Stone, sister Horwell and sister Harrison, each 25 broad pieces of gold, value 23s..6d, and one 5-guinea piece of gold (that to sister Horwell void if she be “covert and not sole”) to niece Ann Bridges £300 and diamond necklace to niece Mary Hancock £500 and diamond ring to 4 sons of said brother Stone, John, William, Charles and James, £200 each to nieces Elizabeth Horwell and Sarah Cheeke, £300 each many other bequests, including property in London and Middlesex and money to other relatives, nephews, nieces etc. witnesses: John Squibb, Joseph Sherwood, Samuel Austen, Charles Gealing 30 Jun 1712 proved: 26 Sep 1712
