- Scope and ContentIt was the day before yesterday that the writer commissioned Vernon junior to communicate with Mr Rashleigh about the business, and had a conversation with Mr Baldwin in order to learn what papers he possessed and what information he could furnish. The writer has never doubted Baldwin’s honesty or integrity, and though the circumstance of this error in the accounts of the family affairs shows a lack of accuracy that has been in some respects inconvenient, perhaps from the complication and extent of his Uncle’s concerns, with which he was not much acquainted himself, it was difficult to avoid it.
