  • Scope and Content
It has been suggested that the Reverend George Calvert was the son of George Calvert of the Coldstream Guards. The D.N.B. states that he died without issue but the Higgins papers suppose that he married a Miss Haddon and had a son, George. This son, the Reverend George Calvert married a Miss Dundas [?Eliza Ann] and was thus connected with the Colburne family, as John Colburne, the father of Caroline George Higgins, married another Dundas sister, Ellen. Caroline Colburne, later Mrs George Higgins, was brought up by some aunts of the Reverend George Calvert and his papers probably became part of this collection as she was his heir.
