    i) Charles Higgins the elder of Bedford, farmer ii) Isaac Elger of Bedford, surgeon iii) the Reverend John Jukes, minister Charles Berrill, builder James Burr, ironmonger Thomas Carling, plumber James Coombs, chemist Benjamin Everitt, brewer's clerk William Wells Kilpin, ironmonger Samuel Ward, carpenter (all of Bedford) John Edward Bodger, farmer Benjamin Prole the younger, farmer (both of Cardington) recites: X369/5 now, consideration: £500 paid by iii) to ii) £5 paid by iii) to i) - piece of land in Bedford, being part of Castle Close North: Castle Lane West and principal part of East: remainder of close all other parts by premises lately used as Depot by Lord Lieutenant - messuage and buildings lately used as a club room and outhouses adjoining built on above land to iii) for remainder of 90 year term Declaration by iii) as members of the Society or Congregation of Protestant Dissenters assembling for the Public Worship of God in the "Old Meeting" or Bunyan Chapel that the buildings will be used as a Sunday School and for any other purpose to promote the said Society and upon trust to mortgage or sell or exchange the said premises according to the will of the majority of trustees signatures: i), ii), iii) witnesses: Alexander Sharman, solicitor, Bedford Thomas Row, clerk to Messrs Sharman and Turnley Thomas W Turnley, solicitor, Bedford C Last, clerk to Messrs Sharman and Turnley 1 Sep 1848 attested: Thomas Cornish, Charles Leech, clerks to Messrs Sharman and Turnley 23 Nov 1848
