- Scope and ContentCobblers bill (found by Mr C Brunt in the roof of a house at Thorncote Green which was being repaired, and by him handed to depositor): E Norman to Thomas Green; bill for shoes bought 3 September 1855, and for shoe repair between 13 September and 3 March 1856; total £1 4s 0d; "received by pork 17s 2½d". Note: Thomas Green, boot and shoe maker appears in directories at Northill between 1854 and 1877. Mark John Norman, farmer appears at Northill in the 1854 directory. (The depositor's grandfather, Thomas Norman, died in 1930 aged 80)
