- Scope and ContentParty consisted of Ely neighbours with the addition of Lady Winterton and Lady Elizabeth Richardson her daughter, lately returned from the East Indies for her health, and Mr Keene came over on the same account. Mention of affairs in Europe; the loss of the Warren Hastings awakened feelings for Lady Elizabeth [Gwillim?], who is to return to her husband at Madras in the next ship. Her 4 children are to be left with her Mother, having suffered from the climate in Madras. Mr Keene brought over an Argus Pheasant as a present from Sir Henry and Lady Gwillim; Lady Lucas may have seen one at the museum. There are very few in the country [a species of pheasant from Southeast Asia] Mrs Baker gives a good account of Mrs Colleton. Congratulates Mr Robinson on his seat, [member of parliament for Carlow, Ireland] and the manner it was obtained for him.
