  • Scope and Content
Handwritten copy of a letter to The Secretary General of the Order of St. John (St. John's Ambulance Brigade) from Honora Grimmer; "Dear Sir, This is to notify you that I am still alive. I was admitted into the Order as a Serving Sister on 16th May 1956. Some years later my sister (Lily May) was also made a Serving Sister and later still she was promoted to Officer Sister. For a few years we both received notices of the Annual Commemoration Service, then for three or four years I had no notice but she received two. She wrote and pointed this out the second time it happened but I still received nothing, now this year she has had two notices, but I still have nothing. It is not really necessary to send two envelopes with two stamps to the same address. I believe in economy, but I wouldn't like it to be thought that I am no longer in the land of the living. Yours faithfully, Honora Patricia Annie Grimmer"
