- Scope and ContentSon Joseph has just left, obliged to return to 'that dimal house in Dean Street.' Mrs Raynsford's jolly manner and spirits 'keeps us all up'. Another sourse of consolation to the writer is that she has enabled Joseph to quit the house in Dean Street should he wishe it by adding £300 a year to his income, and having actually paid the first half year of it before the child was taken ill. Has now offered to assist them in the expense of removing their furniture, and probably adding to it. Sorry not to be yet able to send the inscription for the monument to James Yorke; expects every day to receive it. [See L30/11/339/256]. Has received no answer from the Bishop of St Davids [Thomas Burgess] about the renewal of Carew estate. Details about the family of the recently deceased Bishop of London, Beilby Porteus.
