  • Scope and Content
Reference to health of Mrs [Jemima] Pole-Carew, who enjoyed her visit to Forthampton last summer. '...if she recovers at all, it must be the work of weeks or months, and if she does not - a change of a few hours and a return of her fits may prove fatal.' A letter from Charlotte Pole-Carew reports her to be a little stronger, but Bailey told the writer that he could not answer for her from one day to another. Writer saw Lady Hardwicke and her daughters before setting out for Forthampton. Lord Hardwicke is very kind to the writer's son James. James went with Lord Hardwicke to Wicklow to see the new road, and on another visit with him to Killiney.
