    Description of property in 1892: (a) piece of land in Luton formerly part of close of pasture called Langley Piece, and part of a plot of land containing 24 poles 6 yards 4 feet purchased by Thomas Barrett from Henry Sibley under indenture dated 19 August 1853. Bounded on: NW by Oxford Road with a frontage of 32 feet; NE by premises of Sarah Barrett which formed a gateway entrance from Oxford Road measuring on that side 47 feet 2 inches; SE other premises of Sarah Barrett width 32 feet; SW other premises of Sarah Barrett 51 feet (containing 5 poles 26 years 6 feet) and more particularly described in plan drawn on the back of mortgage dated 2 October 1854; (b) Two messuages built by Thomas Barrett and occupied by Mrs Peddar and Amelia Hutchins [known as 9 and 11 Oxford Road]; (c) Right of way and passage through the gateway on the NE side Recites previous documents and events: - will of Sarah Barrett dated 29 June 1900 appointing her daughters Anne Ashby, wife of Charles Ashby of Liverpool, and Kate Stratford, wife of Edward Douglas Stratford, as executors and trustees; - death of Sarah Barrett on 21 November 1911; - grant of probate on 9 March 1912 - will of Thomas Barrett of Luton, builder, deceased (late husband of Sarah Barrett) dated 29 October 1875 devising all real and personal estate to his wife and appointing his wife and his brother William Barrett executors; - death of Thomas Barrett on 4 November 1875; - grant of probate on 18 December 1875; - repayment by Sarah Barrett of £200 mortgage dated 2 October 1854 by Thomas Barrett to trustees of the Bedford District Branch of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Manchester Unity Friendly Society - indenture of 18 August 1892 between (i) Sarah Barrett and (ii) George William Atkin of Princess Street, Luton, sewing machine manufacturer. Property mortgaged by Sarah Barrett to George William Atkin for £200 - indenture of 2 April 1908 transferring outstanding mortgage of £200 from George William Atkins to Fanny Ann Neve of Luton, wife of Walter Neve, gentleman - indenture of 23 March 1915 between (i) Fanny Ann Neve and (ii) Anne Ashby and Kate Stratford. Reconveyance of 9 and 11 Oxford Road following repayment of mortgage principal.
