- Scope and ContentA handwritten letter from R P S Waddy (former Rector of St Andrew's, Ampthill) to Honora Grimmer, on headed paper from Maiden Newton, Dorchester, Dorset: "Dear Nora, News of George Goode's death came to us in a letter from Rene Saunders: and I have written the enclosed in case Andrew - is he still the editor - might like it for the monthly news. It's more than 30 years since we left, so it may be inappropriate: if so, please dispose of it. We have had a happy weekend, with Havana spending her half-term revising for her exams - a measure of grown-up-ness! The 14 Beaminster parishes have a rogation beating of the bounds - a 36 mile tramp ending with dawn Ascension Eucharist on the top of the highest available hill. We are not expected to join in, and hope that it won't be marked by cold rain each day! I am being allowed a ten o'clock Ascension Day Eucharist at Beaminster for my 80th birthday. There are some compensations for age! We also hear that a new Rector has emerged from the usual complicated processes - I do hope he is as good as you all deserve! All good wishes from us both. Yours affectionately, Pat Stacy Waddy
