  • Scope and Content
A handwritten letter from R P S Waddy (former Rector of St Andrew's, Ampthill) from an address in Reading to Honora Grimmer (the letter is written on headed paper from Queen Anne's School, Caversham, Reading where Pat Stacy Waddy is teaching but the school name has been crossed through and replaced with 2 Henley Road): "Dear Nora, Thank you for yet another Ampthill magazine. Yes, we move in less than a fortnight, and I am surrounded with 35 boxes of books (when we left Derbyshire, I left behind half my library - but it seems to have grown again.) We saw our new house last week, in the throes of redecoration, and were delighted at the thought of taking it over, plus nuns, school, hostels and all. Faced with 'retirement' and pensions, we have to give up some things and probably the Ampthill magazine is one of them. So I enclose a final pound for 1972, and our warm thanks for sending it so faithfully these last few years. We shall certainly never forget our five happy years there. Yours sincerely, Pat Stacy Waddy"
