  • Scope and Content
The accounts of the afflicted parents have been better than could have been anticipated. Fears that Lady Sarah’s power of exertion cannot last, but it is to Mr Robinson’s benefit. Has heard that had the poor child recovered her health it might have been a worse distress than her death from the fearful nature of the disease. Likely to remain at Wimpole till after Christmas, then may go to Brighton or Tyttenhanger before settling in London - has not been able to persuade either Mr of Mrs Yorke to come to Wimpole [presumably Charles Philip Yorke and wife Harriet],’both alas are decided invalids and confine themselves to the same spot, both from habit and disposition.’ ‘It was a great satisfaction to see Sir Charles Stuart returned in such excellent health and spirits. He brought a host of living things with him, and many lamentations were made for 8 or 10 monkeys that had died on the passage. Parrots, cockatoos and louries abound to the great joy of the children.’ Daughter Anne [Lady Pollington] spent a few days lately at Newby.
