Fish eye lens view from ground level of Hangar 2 and the B.R.E. buildings and equipment inside it, including barrage balloon and aeroplane fuselage. Reverse of photograph states: "BRE Neg 89.214.5 The BRE Cardington Laboratory in Bedfordshre is used for large-scale fire and explosion experiments by the Fire Research Station and Building Research Establishment. The ex R100 hangar is 245m long 80m wide and 55m high. At one end (not in this picture) there is a full size eight storey building used for a variety of tests. Crown copyright."
