    A collection of correspondence regarding the appointment of Honora Grimmer as an uncertified teacher: - typed letter dated 4th September 1919 on Bedfordshire County Council headed paper, from the department of H E Baines, Director of Education at Shire Hall, Bedford. Signed by A R Pinnock, Assistant Director of Education, stating that given Honora's qualifications, she would be recognised as an Uncertified Teacher providing that she is over 18 years of age and can satisfy the Board as to her physical capacity. - typed letter dated 20th October 1919 on Bedfordshire County Council headed paper, from the department of H E Baines, Director of Education at Shire Hall, Bedford. Signed by A R Pinnock, Assistant Director of Education, asking for further documentation as regards her health. - typed letter dated 23rd January 1920 from the Board of Education, based at the Victoria and Albert Museum in South Kensington to Honora requesting a further report from an opthalmic surgeon. Facsimile signature of H J Simmonds. - typed letter dated 16th Februray 1920, on Board of Education headed paper, approving the appointment of G H Goldsmith Esq to perform the opthalmic examination and setting out the points required to be confirmed. Signed by A R Pinnock, Assistant Director of Education, reconfirming the Uncertified Teacher status, as at 15th September 1919 to cover Honora's appointment at Ampthill Church of England School.
