Saw Dr Waller and "prisoner" Dawson struggling on the edge of a ditch. Went to Waller's assistance and took him away; Dawson attempted to get Williams by the legs "to throw me up". "There was a disposition to be riotous during the whole of the evening. Stones were frequently thrown at the special constables and vitriol thrown over the clothes of several of them".
