Evidence from Mr. John Twigg of Dunstable (currently 69 years of age) , about a close in Church Street, called Walnut Tree Close, and cottages within the close. "The said close was divided from Church Street by a brick wall and had an enhanced gate from Church Street into the said close. A narrow slip of the said close extended from Church Street to the rear of property formerly Stoke's, and then extended in an easterly direction, forming from that point a square field... I also remember an orchard at the south-east corner of Walnut Tree Close being added by the said William Elliott... Two cottages now occupied by James Markham and William Hudon and also the adjoining cottages, occupied by the said William Elliott"
