- Scope and ContentThe death of Mrs C. Eliot. Has been on a visit to Falmouth; describes journey. Falmouth harbour is beautiful, but is continually filling up with sand and stuff washed down from the mines in the hills and will now scarcely give anchorage to a fifty gun ship. Thanks for offer of venison. Sorry to hear Lady Polwarth's visit to Wimole was prevented by Lady Hardwicke's illness. Mention of Mr Robinson's fractured limb, which has recovered quickly. General family news; Lady Eliot is going to Plymouth to nurse Lady Georgina, who is soon to be confined [sister in law Lady Georgiana Augusta Eliot, wife of William Eliot. Son Edward Granville Eliot was born 29 August 1798].
