    In the Name of God Amen. I Elizabeth Fells of the Parish of Harlington in the County of Bedford, Widow, being of perfect Mind and Memory thanks be given unto God therefore calling to Mind the Mortality of my Body, and knowing that it is appointed for all Men once to die, do make and Ordaine this my last Will and Testament: That is to say Principally and first of all I Give and recommend my Soul into the Hands of Almighty God that gave it, and my Body I recommend to the Earth to be buried in decent Christian Burial at the Discretion of my Executor herein after named, nothing doubting but at the General Resurrection I shall Receive the Same again by the mighty power of God: And as touching such Worldly Goods wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this Life, I Give and Dispose of the Same in the following manner and forme First I Give and Bequeath to my son Edward Fells all and Singular my Goods Household Goods Cattle and Chattells and Credits and all other my Estate and Estates whatsoever both real and Personal (except such as are by me herein otherwise Given and Bequeathed) He paying the Legacies by me herein after given and Bequeathed and my just Debts and funeral Expences, and I hereby constitute make and Ordain my said Son Edward Fells my only and Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament, I likewise Give and Bequeath to my Daughter Susannah Westley and to my Daughter Elizabeth Oakley and to my Daughter Mary Partridge each the Sum of one pound and one shilling, to be paid to each of them by my Executor within one Year after my Decease I likewise Give and Bequeath to my Daughter Ann Sibley the Sum of five pounds to be paid to her by my Executor within one Year after my Decease: I likewise Give and Bequeath to my Son Richard Fells and to my Son Robert Fells and to my Son John Fells and to my Son Thomas Fells each the Sum of one Shilling to be paid to each of them by my Executor within one Year after my Decease. I likewise Give and Bequeath to my Grandaughter Elizabeth Fells the Daughter of my Son Robert Fells the Sum of One pound and One Shilling to be paid to her by my Executor within One Year after my Decease. I likewise Give and Bequeath unto my said Grandaughter Elizabeth Fells Daughter of my said Son Robert Fells One flock bed with the Bedstead and Bedding thereunto belonging being the Bed whereon my Maid Servant usually lieth and also one paire of Sheets: I likewise Give and Bequeath to the Poor of the Parish of Harlington the Sum of Twenty Shillings to be Given and Distributed to them in Bread by my Executor and (illegible) and I Desire that my said Executor may pay the above Legacies peaceably and quietly and that my(illegible) children may Receive the same peaceably and quietly, that there be no difference or disputes among them, an(d) my Desire is that they may live in Love and Unity. And I do hereby utterly disallow, revoke, disannul and make void All and every other former Wills and Testaments, Legacies Bequests and Executors, by me in any ways before named Willed and Bequeathed: Ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I the said Elizabeth fells the Testatrix have hereunto Set my Hand and Seal the nine and Twentieth Day of May in the Seventeenth Year of the Reign of our Sovereigne Lord George the Second by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith and so forth, And in the Year of our Lord God One Thousand Seven Hundred and forty four. The Mark and Seal of Elizabeth Fells Signed Sealed Published Pronounced and Declared by the same Elizabeth Fells the Testatrix as her last Will and Testament in the presence of Us, at the Request and in the Presence of the said Testatrix have hereunto Subscribed our Names as Witnesses. Will(ia)m Wakelen (illegible) (--)apman Rebker Chapman Probate Will was Proved on the eighteenth day of Sep(temb)er in the Year of Our Lord 1747 Before the Rev(eren)d -) Robert Lambe Clerk Surrogate to the Rev(eren)d Ven(er)able John Taylor Clerk D.D. (Cornary?) and Archdeacon of the Archdeaconry of Bedford lawfully constituted and by him approved & allowed of and for the Validity of the Said Will lawfully pronounced & declared And the burthen of the Execution of the said Will was committed & granted to Edward Fells Son of the dec(ease)d Sole Executor in the Said Will named being sworn Saving the right of Every One.
