Will take care to observe Lady Lucas' directions so far as to prevent Elizabeth Gillman from losing her appointment [at the London Asylum for the Deaf and Dumb]. The gentlemen with whom the writer has communicated are liberal contributors of time and money to the establishment, particularly the old gentleman with whom the mistake may have originated; the writer cannot decently insist in the production of the letter as if fraud were intended.
