- Scope and ContentHas received Mr Dyke's rent and paid it into the bank. Sends receipt for the Duke of Devonshire's interest. The writer was subpoena'd by Mr Firmin to give evidence of the loss of his Essex appointments under Lady Lucas on the trial of an action which Firmin had brought against two of his relations and the solicitor who issued the commission against him. Before the cause was called on it was compromised. Mr Firmin received his costs and a deed which had been procured from him during his despondency was cancelled. The writer reminded him of his debt to Lady Lucas. Added note written on behalf of C H Ware informing that Mr Firmin's estate at Dedham is advertised for sale.
