    John Otgher of Codicott/Codicote (county Hertfordshire), gentleman, James Edmonds of same, gentleman and wife Catherine, and John Bassam of parish of St James, Clerkenwell (county Middlesex), brewer and wife Elizabeth, (which said Catherine and Elizabeth are daughters and coheiresses apparent of John Otgher and wife Catherine, who was the daughter and heiress of John Nesbett of Codicott, esquire), to William Clayton. ... A messuage in Sundon in occupation of Joseph Carter, between the messuage of William Clayton (lately purchased of John King) east and the tenement of Richard Carter west; a close adjoining (3 roods); and 8 perches of pasture, extending from the highway to the corner post of a barn belonging to the said messuage, and thence to where a boundstake formerly stood, and thence to the highway, (in possession of Richard Carter, by virtue of a Lease dated 8 November 1694: Henry Nesbett to Richard and James Lane); and 141½ acres land dispersed in the Fields of Sundon [described in detailed terrier occupying the last membrane of the Lease (T42/533)]. Also a messuage in occupation of Robert Hartwell as under tenant to Joseph Carter, in Lower Sundon; a close adjoining (2 acres), with the ground of William Clayton east and south; and another close adjoining the last (1½ acres), with the ground of William Clayton on east, and a lane there west and north.
