    Parties: (i) Sir Oliver Ayschombe of Lyford [Berkshire], baronet; (ii) Symon Folkes of Saint Andrew, Holborn [Middlesex], esquire; (iii) Humphrey South of City of London, merchant Reciting: - AN28/10 Operative Part: - (iii) paid £1,500 to (ii) at the request of (i); - (ii), by direction of (i), assigned the Manor of Berkford to (iii); - (iii) paid £500 to (i); - (i) assigned and confirmed the Manor of Berkford to (iii) Habendum: - to (iii) for the residue of 1,000 years at a peppercorn rent Proviso: - for equity of redemption - interest 6% Witnesses: - Humphrey South junior; - Robert South; - Andrew Card Copy bond of 24 August 1697 from Sir Oliver Ayshcombe to Humphrey South for a further advance of £500 witnessed by Andrew Card, Phillip Taylor and John Tyrrell Copy deed poll of 2 June 1743 of Sontley South of London, esquire, sole executor and residuary legatee on and in will of Humphrey South the younger, his father, who was sole executor of his father Humphrey South the elder of London, merchant: - reciting default of payment of £2,000 by Sir Oliver Ayshcombe; - reciting that the mortgaged estate became vested in Humphrey South the younger, subject to equity of redemption, as executor of Humphrey South the elder as contained in decree in Chancery on 22 June 1706 on a bill of foreclosure by Humphrey South the elder against Sir Oliver Ayshcombe and Symon Folkes [AN28/13]; - reciting the will of Humphrey South the younger of 3 May 1737 [AN28/18] proved by Sontley South in PCC devising to his brothers John and Joseph (then and now of London, merchants) all his interest in lands at Clopton, Mickleton [Gloucestershire] and in Little Barford and Waresley [Huntingdonshire] mortgaged to Humphrey South the elder for £2,500, the rents of which were not sufficient to pay the interest on the sum; - informing that in pursuance of the will of Humphrey South the younger, Sontley South assigned to John South and Joseph South the Manor of Berkford in Little Barford and Eynesbury [Huntingdonshire] and real estate in Ircote alias Earthcote, Clopton and Mickleton to the use of John and Joseph South from Michaelmas 1742 for the residue of 1,000 years now vested in Sontley South, subject to equity of redemption; - witnesses: George North; Joseph Balch Copy examined 23 April 1765 by Robert Nicholas and Thomas Roe, clerks to Bristow and Winterbottom of Merchant Taylors’ Hall
