Parties:
(i) John Pateman of Langford, butcher, son and devisee of will of William Pateman, deceased;
(ii) Richard Papworth of Elsworth [Cambridgeshire], yeoman
Operative Part:
- (i) demised (a) (amongst other lands in Shillington and Langford) to (ii) for 500 years for £350
Property:
(a) 10½ acres and ½ rood of arable in the common fields of Stotfold

- for equity of redemption
(VIII) Assignment of Mortgage 25 January 1798

(i) John Papworth and Edward Morden (surviving executors of the will of Richard Papworth, deceased);
(ii) John Pateman;
(iii) Dennis Herbert of Biggleswade, merchant
Reciting:

- Richard Papworth was dead and in his will of 7 April 1785 had appointed (i) and William Papworth (now dead) as executors who proved the will in PCC;
- on 12 July 1796 (iii) paid £350 to (i) by direction of (ii) but no assignment was then made

(IX) Conditional surrender of 14 March 1798 by John Pateman of all his copyhold estate to Dennis Herbert charged with repayment of £1,100
(X) Dennis Herbert was dead, his will being proved in PCC by George Herbert of Biggleswade, merchant
