Parties:
(i) John Wright of Stotfold, flaxman and Arabella, his wife, only daughter of George Hailey of Arlesey, yeoman;
(ii) George Hailey; William Rayner of Hitchin [Hertfordshire], gentleman
Reciting:
- late marriage between John Wright and Arabella Hailey;
- John Wright had received a competent sum of money as Arabella’s marriage portion
Operative Part:
- as a jointure for Arabella if she survived him John Wright covenanted with (ii) that (a) (bought with Arabella’s marriage portion) should stand to uses as follows:
- to the use of (i) for their lives ad that of the longer lived;
- remainder to heirs of John Wright begotten on the body of Arabella Wright;
- remainder to the use of the heirs of John Wright for ever
Property:
(a) cottage and pightle of pasture converted into an orchard containing half an acre in Green End, Stotfold formerly in the occupation of Thomas Albone, deceased
