Memorandum: “the purchase Deeds and title Deeds relating to this Estate were lodged in the house of John Samwell in Great Barford the said Sarah Rycroft being often from home and the house she lived in being a lone house distant from the towne were left at the said Samwell’s house as a greater place of security but a fire happening at the said Samwell’s in March 1739 the said writings with divers effects of other possessions were then burnt & consumed by the said fire the truth of which wee know and witness our hands Simon Staughton and Samuel Luke
