Scope and Content
- devising to his wife Jane the house in which he dwelt and all his land in Great Barford for her life, remainder to his their son John ;
- devising to his wife the cottage in occupation of Robert Green for her life remainder to their son John provided he pay £20 each to his testator’s son William Freshwater and daughter Ann Freshwater with powers of distraint for William and Ann if William was in default and if one died the other was to receive their sibling’s share;
- bequeathing his working tools equally between his sons;
- bequeathing the residue of his personal estate to his wife;
- appointing his wife sole executrix;
- witnesses: Newman Hughes, Thomas Wye, William Childs;
- attached probate in Archdeaconry of Bedford on 14 January 1737 [1738]
