    Will and probate of John Downes of Saint George the Martyr [Surrey], jeweller “being weak in body”: - devising all real estate to his wife Sarah; - desiring his friends John Barkley of Warwick Street, Saint James’, Westminster [Middlesex], esquire and William Deacon of The Burrough, Southwark [Surrey], armourer to assist his executrix and bequeathing 20 guineas to each for rings; - bequeathing to William Deacon’s wife £10 for a ring; - bequeathing to William Taylor of Epping [Essex], gentleman 10 guineas for a ring and to his wife 5 guineas or a ring; - bequeathing the residue of his personal estate to his wife; - appointing his wife sole executrix; - witnesses: Leonard Smith; John Leaper; George Woodward Grove Probate in PCC of 17 March 1745 [1746]
