£120 was fixed as the fine for a new life in the Beale's farm at Crudwell. The 'old man' is since dead so that the farm is now holden on one life only. The writer has required that a fine of £200 should be paid for the addition of one life, and if two lives are desired in addition so that the farm is holden on three lives, then the fine will be £280. The tenant agrees to apying the £280. Lady Lucas will probably hear in a few days that MrJervis has made a remittance to Messrs Hoares.
